Columbia River: Water levels are running normal for this time of year with 3-4 feet visibility. I can not get over how many Spring Chinook are in the Columbia this time of year which reminds me of the old days when the smelt entered the River the Springers cam with them. On a side note there have been descent numbers of Springers caught from Vancouver to Cathlamet. Method of choice, Down River trolling, that’s our speciality. Lewis River: high and green but not much fish reported….
Columbia River: High and green with about 2-3 feet of visibility. There is a ton of smelt in the river as well as a few Spring Chinook. I would definitely focus around the Holding flats from Kalama to Mouth of Lewis River all the way up to Vancouver. Method of choice. Troll Herring with a 1 foot dropper and make sure you shorten your leaders up 4-5ft, You want to tap the bottom every 5 seconds or so to keep it in the Zone….
Columbia River: Very high water conditions but defiantly fishable, there is a ton of smelt in the River system, Guys are picking up a occasional Spring Chinook trolling Herring down River….
This week was an unbelievable week but, BRRR was the word along with winter steelhead.
Oregon fished very well as the rivers went from blown out to no water at all.
Mid coast and Tillamook Rivers fished very well said Matt Halseth for winter Steelies. There are lots of Wild Steelies as well Hatchery ones to be had. Method of choice, Dinger Jigs, Lured Beads, and sidedrifting, Bobber dogging roe cured in ZILLABAIT was the hottest ticket.

Oregon has had quite a few late Chinook back to many of the systems as well as Steelhead.
Trask River: fished very well with multiple hook ups on Chinook and Steelhead with a occasional coho in the mix says Matt Halseth of Halseths Guide service. The go to for catching multiple species of fish was Float fishing with eggs cured in Zilla Bait. we also caught a few on Hardware….
This pst week was a cold and brutal week, weather wise in SW WA.and we hope everyone had a great thanksgiving and were able to spend time with friends and family….
This past week we had the opportunity to fish the Southern Coast of OR and it was a unbelievable fishery with lots of winter King action on the Elk and the Sixes rivers.
The technique we used was Float and eggs, Back bouncing eggs cured in Zilla Bait. We saw anywhere from 10-19 fish opportunities a day….
