Columbia River: There is tons of water and has definitely got dirty as well from all the tributaries dumping in. The catch rates have dropped off tremendously. Talk to your fishing guide to make sure it’s worth the trip to this river right now
Lewis River: the water levels have brought in a few more fish, Coho that is. i would focus on the upper stretches as close to the hatchery as the fish are not stopping or holding. Techniques: Hardware is the key here as well as twitching a few jigs.
Cowlitz River: there were a ton of wild kings and small ones but you can not keep them as it is a hatchery river only. only a few Coho being caught around blue creek up to Salmon Hatchery. The water levels have climbed tremendously so make sure you check the flows. Techniques: Side drifting Roe cured in Zilla Bait.
Chehalis System: The Chehalis is’t self is closed but there are a few select river systems that dump into the chehalis that are open. please check www.wdfw.com site for updates and emergency rules.
Humptulips River: Open from Lower Ryanvanes bar to 101 hwy. Hatchery coho are in the system in good numbers as well as wilds. You can only retain Hatchery Coho. Check the river flows as heavy rains have caused the rivers to rise. Techniques: Coho love to eat Zilla Bait under a float as well a smack Hardware. Blue Fox spinners in size 4,5 work well. Twitching jigs in soft or still water in size 1/4-1/2 oz.
Wishka River: this little system is stuffed full of Coho but the access is limited like many other small rivers in the state. Techniques: this is definitely are hardware river so bring lots of spinners.
Satsop River: Open from the forks on east fork to Schaffer park bridge, Several coho have moved into this little system this past week. Hatchery Coho only. Techniques: Backtrolling plugs, casting hardware and twitching jigs.
Skookumchuck River: a very small river with tons of Hatchery coho to be caught, The rains this past week have caused this river to go up and down like a roller coaster so check your water levels. Techniques: Float and eggs, Float and jigs, casting hardware, twitching jigs.
Newakum River: Another small river that flows through the farmlands of Chehalis and dumps into the upper Chehalis river with minimal access but if you can gain access you will be rewarded with bright coho. Techniques: Casting Hardware and twitching jigs.
